Okay, so my RA comes around and knocks on my door. I come out, and meet with a bunch of other guys in the hall.

we're still smack-dab in the middle of this blizzard thing here, by the way.

In any case, the RA told us that the heating pipes for the hall had burst.

No heat in the rooms, or hot water for up to a week.

it's 27F outside now, and typically, goes down to about 5-10F at night. this hall was built in the 50's, so the insulation's not exactly great. he told us to close all the windows and try to get extra blankets.

See, the problem is, wokers can't actually start fixing it, because there's about 6 inches of snow out and it'll keep falling until wednesday morning.

What a crap time for the heat to die.

BUT THERE IS A GOOD SIDE TO THIS ALL.

The jello shots are ready.

*warms her hands over the heater* i could send you a blanket, but with all this snow it probably wouldn't get there until next week.

I hate all of this snow. I'm just sick of it. It doesn't even build up to like, 5 feet or something. It just stays around a foot. Where's the cool factor in that?!

We still have no heat, and they haven't cancelled classes today, even though the winter weather advisory just got upgraded to a winter storm warning!

We have 10 inches. The ground swallowed my feet this morning as I waddled over to the bus stop. NYC is clean and shiny though.

When will this end!

*throws small-pox infested blankets over to davey*

Stay Warm!

We've got at least 6 inches in Central Virginia.

Snow days rock.

Just got this e-mail:

"Last night, a high temperature hot water (HTHW) line ruptured in a manhole near Bouton Hall. Thanks to the efforts of our facilities department personnel who worked throughout the night, the line was successfully repaired early this morning. From 8:00PM last night until just a few minutes ago we were unable to supply heat to most campus buildings and temperatures have fallen to the upper 50 to mid 60 degree range. As of 9:45AM the heating plant boilers were back in service heating water to send to campus buildings. This process takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete. Early this afternoon you will notice building temperatures slowly increase to a more comfortable range.

Thank you for your continued patience."

Pah. Come to Canada sometime, pussies.

6 inches? If you think size/hieght </>matters</i>. I tell you h'what, it's ice pellets that dominate. That's why I'm home today. Little BALLS OF ICE FROM THE SKY.

Yeah, Michigan sucks when it comes to snow. No wait. Michigan sucks on its own. I hate snow. I wish they would cancel class for once but they never do.

I hope your campus is nothing like my high school, which was built in the mid-1970's. When the custodians turn on the boiler, the school's an inferno at 90°F. When they turn on the "chiller," hell freezes over at 50°F. We just can't win in the temperature wars.

haha! i can just picture you waddling through the snow!

10 inches should be next to nothing for the 60 foot mooser that is you. :)

You guys should be grateful you get snow, however little it is. We don't get snow in southern California-- except for the mountain resort areas, where the snow is fake and everything else is ice. I don't think I've ever seen falling snow, save for when I was a baby or something. And we get very little rain, too. Well, not recently. Recently people have been dying and pools have been splitting in half because of the mudslides that the rain has caused.

But anyways. We don't get snow.
