Do you have any weapons in your home? what do you use to keep them safe?

I personally own a paintball gun and a katana. not really powerful weapons, but could kill someone nonetheless.

why do you keep things safe? to keep them away from something. like a drunk asshole with a stethoscope.

I have a pocket knife that's in my jacket in the basement. It was a phase. Owning stupid weapons is a phase.

All the ones here are in the open. They protect me. The .410 by the door and the sword behind my bed. (Not to mention the golf club by my bedroom door)

AngryGoatFace

so does the paintball gun protect the katana, or visa versa, or do they both have each other's backs?

they're stored in an inconspicous place and that keeps them safe.

I was actually just looking at knives. I want this (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2250354540&category=43335) one. Those're illegal in massachusetts, but I'm considering buying one anyway. I'm not going to stab anyone with it, I might need it to cut through rope or something and it just looks cool.

I have a swiss army knife. It has a pen, tooth pick, tweezers, cork screw, tiny screw driver, tiny nail, bottle opener, sissors, and a 3 inch blade. I carry my electric screwdriver around the house though. It can't really hurt anyone, but don't tell my sister that. And it isn't really mine but I sort of claimed it and my parents are nice enough to not object even though they won't let me play splinter cell.

I have a bunch of plastic swords, and I created a lot of bows, arrows, and spears as a kid that I probably still have around. I'm mostly past my whole weapons phase but I still do fencing.

if you have silverware in your house, swiss army knives don't count.

i have a hyperactive bow & arrow that i've never used and actually isn't even mine. i protect it with the sceptor of the floop dynasty. i protect that with some cotton balls i taped together.

Silverware isn't sharp. But yeah pocket knives don't really count.

I also made several slingshots as a kid but I think I threw them away. They can actually hurt people and I don't want any real weapons.

I have an airsoft FN P-90 under the bed, a small knife (shank? shiv?) somewhere in my nightstand, a machete by the door, and a Swiss Army knife in my jacket pocket.

The P-90 isn't loaded or charged, the knife still has the original cardboard bladeguard on it, and the machete is sitting in its studded canvas scabbard. Unless a 2-year-old was in the house, the place is peachy-keen.

You iz awsome, Davey. I wanna start collecting swords now...

I have pushpins, an X-acto knife, croquil pens (those are damn sharp), and old paintbrushes where the paint dried on the bristles and became really hard. Uh.. art supplies.

We own no real weapons, unless my parents are hiding something. Well, my brother has a bunch of airsoft guns, but I don't really count those. You can't really kill people with those, just put them in shitloads of paaaain.

If anyone here is a gunnut could they tell me how old this gun is? My great-grandmother used to carry it around with her.
It's an Winchester Model 37 .410 made in new haven, conn.
It's steel and wood. (oak or walnut, can't tell it's old)
It has no serial number and no safety.
I can't find anything on the internet about it...

I have some practice weapons for my Oom Yung Doe (martial arts) training, a Bong (Bo) , Jung Bong (short stick), and a pair of Nunchucks.

I also picked up two really nice hunting knives in Toledo, Spain because Toledo is know for the quality of the steel they make their blades from. I also picked up some real nice pocket knive but I gave those to my dad.

Nice collection Davey :vile:

It's a single shot. I don't know about the lever action (just shoot them, don't know the termenology) and I can't get a pic up.
They started making them in 1937, do Winchester guns just get named for the year they are made or do they continue?

Lever action is like the old john wayne cowboy guns: look at the carbine in my left hand in the photoshopped pic of me. The big, long loop under the gun behind the trigger is the lever. It swings down to eject empty cases, and you pull it back up to load a fresh cartridge in from the magazine.

But since yours is single-shot, so it may be break-open (gun hinges in half, empty shell slides out, and a new one is slid back in, gun is unhinged and a hammer cocked manually to fire) or even bolt-action(If you know What a Mauser, Lee-Enfield, Springfield, Mosin-Nagant are, then you're set).

Hold on... is this (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=29219860#PIC)?

This is a break-open shotgun.
