View Full Version : worst college admittance essay
I was looking through my computer files and found the ones I wrote last minute and then turned in during a state of panic. Anyone else fuck theirs up?
My one was about the greatness that is Nobuo Uematsu and how he has influenced my life. I would post it ,but I am very, very, very ashamed.
Not shocking is the fact I didn't get the large scholarship.

Did you look at my other post and use that as inspiration for this thread?
If so, you lack creativity and are a heretic.

I didn't write anything. And I got into Auburn. (And I'm just an average B student).
Of course I transfered to a different school, but I was to lazy to write a letter to my first University. At least I THINK I didn't write one. If I did, it was so uninspiring that I have no memory of even writing one.
i was definitely not proud of my essay.
but whatever. it all comes down to the acceptances.

Three of my friends have been accepted into CalArts. I haven't received anything yet. Uh... they send rejection letters first, right? I'm freaking out about not getting in. Gah...
My essay was total bull.
As a remotely related question, do letters of recommendation really mean a lot? Maybe it'd be different from regular and art colleges, but my dad went through a bit of trouble to get a recommendation from not just anyone. I just hope it means something.

Psh.
Nobuo Uematsu is GOD. you should KNOW that if you apply to a state school and mention god in your essay, they'll throw it out.
I wrote mine about Hironobu Sakaguchi. he's not a God, but damn close. so, i got in.

Granted, this was for the character animation department; I don't know what you're trying to get into.

Yeah, I'm trying for character animation. I know a bunch of friends who are already there, my best friend got in, my roommate from CSSSA got in, and another good friend got in. I'm not exactly confident that I'll get in, but I have a lot of things in my advantage (I know two members of the portfolio reviewing commitee, went to CSSSA, got one letter of recommendation from a character animation alumni, have a dad in the animation industry, et cetera...) so I'm just waiting for a response. Oh, how I wait.
:(
Glad I'm not the only one. I wonder if they really read them now....
I applied to Kenyon for some unknown reason and thier admission process is HELL.
You have to write like three essays and a ton of short answer questions like "who was most influential?", "what school activity has had the largest impact?", and so on.

You didn't write that Jhonen is the most influencial person, did you?

No, if you do that the college sends a death squad of trained robots after you. New legislature and all.
Uchan, is that Elmo in your avatar?

I was wondering what that was. I thought that was vomit on his chest...

I was thinking about it at one point, but then I did it about an english teacher I once had. (All reading and no grammer, I loved it!) For some reason I seemed to end it it with the words: "KICK RED BABY OF THE REVOLUTION!".
I think that's the reason I never did hear back from them...
