hey, i got new digital cable, but it only came with the basic channels, channels i could get without a cable box, and i need to order a channel package to get the other digital cable channels, and id rather do it online, not by phone, so i searched the site, but the closest i found was ordering new boxes that come with a package, so, if anyone knows what to do with this kind of service, can you help?

It takes a couple of hours for the channels to be registered. The same thing happened to me when I got it.
Which box did you get the silver sony, or the new black one? From what I can see the silver sony has better response and cooler menus.

silver sony. and actually, it took about 20 minutes for the channels to register.
and if the sony has better response thats awesome, but i dont really like the menus, well, actually, the menus are cool, but i dont like the channel guide.
and one cool thing is that theres a memory stick slot in front.

I've had this IO box for about three years now and I still don't know what that slot is for. I stuck a black card in and it came up with a white error message. It would have been great if they used it for image slide shows, or movie viewing.
Yeah the channel guide is annoying and slow but since the GUI is different from the black box, the black box has a much more simple and direct, it loads much quicker. So both have their ups and downs but I think the Sony is better.
