View Full Version : Star Wars might not be over, yet.

I was just looking around the net and I found this (http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode7/plot.html), and this (http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode8/plot.html), and the final (http://www.supershadow.com/starwars/episode9/plot.html) chapter.
I knew that Star Wars was a 9 episode story. But I really knew nothing about episodes VII, VIII, and IX. Now that I have skimmed over the plots of what these movies are about, I have a pretty strong feeling Lucas might make these movies too.
And it would work. All three actors (Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford) are all old enough to play characters that are "30 years older." The only question is if they would actually be willing to do 3 more movies. A part of me is saying, "Oh God please yes!" while the other part of me is saying, "Pfft, yeah right. *mockingly* 'Sure Lucas I'll star in your movies for the next 8 years, he-yuk!' Not."
I donno. I think the story line is neat, but who the fuck is this Mara Jade person Luke marries? The audiance has no idea who she is and it would be very hard for us to accept her as the wife of Luke.
I love the idea that Both Luke/Mara and Han/Leia have kids, and I like their names (Ben Skywalker and Anakin Solo).
I donno. I'm pretty torn about this, and it isn't really even rumored that they might make 3 more movies. Star Wars is popular enough, and Lucas could just GCI up some main characters if the real life action ones don't want to do it. Done right I think it would be cool. *looks Lucas in the eyes* Done. Right.

Really? So what I just linked -- those story plots are NOT the original George Lucas outlines?

It would be weird.
All the main characters are old and like 60 years old.
Obi-Wan is dead (actor wise, ...unless they gezzer-up Ewan McGregor).
The offspring characters are all grown up.
We've got some bimbo chick with Luke whom none of us are familar with.
I donno. I just donno. I have a very strong feeling that none of the original cast would be willing to do yet another series of Star Wars films. Carrie Fisher for sure.

I never read the books. I only read Star Trek books. Star Wars books are for loosers.

I went out and bought TPM book right after I saw the movie, and I the only reason I bought that book was because the movie made no fucking sense to me. The book explained so much. Since AoTC makes just as little sense, I'm thinking about buying that book and reading it just so I can figure out the background plot.

As far as I know, Mara Jade was invented by author Timothy Zahn for his "Thrawn Trilogy" a set of Star Wars books published in the early 90's....they're not so bad either.
A lot of Star Wars books/comics are pretty good.
The backstory is she used to be Palpatine's right hand woman before....she turned good....here's a trading card of her:

I don't know how old he is, but on average, it would take another 6-8 years, and I'm guessing he'll be dead from stress by then.

As much as I hated Episode I, I'm such a nerd that I would definitely like to see a "conclusion" to the series. The end of Episode VI left so much open, so many places to go. Luke watched as his father sacrificed himself to kill the Emperor, the Death Star II was blown up, and all seemed fine...but I just know it wasn't the end for the Dark Side after the Emperor fell, there has to be something else out there that's just as mean as Vader or the Emperor ever were. So, I'm hoping that at the very least that Lucas is considering expanding the series.

Hey, I just watched a short interview with Lucas and he seems pretty sure that the saga is over. Apparently the whole "Star Wars" story is the story of Darth Vader, and that the only reason he made the prequals was because he didn't think the tragity of Vader came off as nicely as he wanted it to.
But he said that I - VI is the saga and that he is done. But then again he said that he'd never do a prequal or anything, and yet here we are. So who knows?

Side note: I just read some where that Lucas has secretly contracted a bunch of people who have worked through I, II, and III (the GCI, audio people, blah blah blah) for future films. Now I don't know if Lucas is actually planning on making VII, VIII, and IX but this sounds interesting. It sounds like he’s thinking about making them and wants to put his people aside just in case.
Episodes I-VI Lucas has considered the "Anakin saga." And he said that it is over now. Well, duh, Vader is dead. But Lucas did write 9 parts to this Space opera and we all know how obsessed he is about his "vision" and making sure his audience sees it the way that he wants it to be seen, complete and “pure.”
I heard in an interview that Lucas didn't want to make Episode I - III until technology caught up with what was in his head. Now it's available, so they got made.
Also, think of it this way. In episodes I-III we had familiar characters (Obi-Wan and Yoda) but they were played by different people (yoda being CGI and all). The audience’s reaction was good and we have now made 3 long journeys with these actors. Now in Episodes 7, 8, and 9 we will have to journey with 2 new characters (Ben Skywalker and Anakin Solo) but we will have some familiar faces of Luke, Leia and Han. And since we all can accept Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan now we will have no problem seeing him appear in spirit form from time to time.
The audience’s reaction to these movies would be strong (in my opinion). For the first time in a long time we won’t have a clue as to what will happen. With the prequels we had a pretty good idea of what was gonna happen. But 7, 8, and 9 are fresh movies and anything can happen. For all we know, Luke may die in the last one and join Obi-Wan and Yoda in spirit form. Now THAT would make a complete saga.
The more I think about it the more I really do hope that Lucas makes these movies. Done right, this could be very powerful. Let’s keep out fingers crossed.

Okay, I know that this topic has already gone really off topic. But I just wanted to say that Super Shadow is a liar. He doesn't know anything about the future of Star Wars. There won't be more movies. George Lucas has confirmed this in many interviews.
And don't believe Super Shadow's stories about going to the Skywalker Ranch or working with George Lucas, because it's bullshit. So is that picture of him on his website.
Closing note: reading the Expanded Universe books are just as good as getting more movies. Plus, we're getting two new television series about Star Wars (one live-action, one animated).

Lucas said he would never make the prequels and yet, he has.
I am not looking forward to the new Star Wars TV show.

Lucas said he would never make the prequels and yet, he has.
That's because the prequels are mostly about Anakin Skywalker turning to the dark side. All six movies are basically about Darth Vader and the Sith coming out of (the closet) hiding and eventually becoming rulers of the galaxy (except for the Rebellion). Here's a quote from Lucas's interview with the official Star Wars site (released May 18th, 2005):
Q: Is this the last theatrical Star Wars movie?
A: This is the last of the Star Wars movies. At the end of Return of the Jedi, the Republic is restored, and Darth Vader is redeemed. It took a very long time, but Anakin finally fulfills the prophecy that he will destroy the Sith and bring balance to the Force. To me, there are no more stories to tell in movie form after that. It seems a natural and fulfilling place to end the story of the Skywalker family and the struggle of the Jedi and the Rebels to bring peace and freedom to the galaxy.
Okay, I don't know what this SuperShadow thing is you are talking about. I heard about the next episodes from somewhere else.
Jenny, the links that you had in your first poster are from Super Shadow's gayass site.
