Actually, more like a lack of a boy. And it's here because spam is bad.

Yeah, I know I haven't been around much. Finals and 10 page papers will do that to a girl. As will preparing to move out of my parents house, losing my job, and falling into a slight depression but these are all things for my LJ. I've been absent for long periods before, but I try to give you all a heads up if it's going to be too long.

So, that's what's going on. I'm going to be out of touch until next Monday, maybe Tuesday. Anyone who reads my LJ already knowsthis but, my cousin Thor was killed by a car bomb in Iraq on Sunday, May 8th. Well, he's a cousin through marraige, really, but to me he was more like an obnoxious older brother that visited twice a year.

In any case, his funeral is this Saturday and I'll be going down to my grandmother's in Maryland on Thursday. John has been allowed to come home, hence our early departure. I can't help but be grateful that it's not his coffin I will be standing next to. Sometimes that sounds like a horrible thing to say.

Anyway, I'll either be going up to Buffalo on Saturday night or coming home on Sunday, depending on whether Drew will be able to come down. Work is kind of busy and it's not looking good, but I know he's trying his hardest. It means a lot to me that he's doing all that he is, I know it isn't easy.

I've got one last paper to finish up and then I'll probably be back to harass the natives again. I'm sure I'll be thinking about some of you and wishing I had people to talk to me and tell me wonderful short stories and generally be silly with. I always miss this place. But I'll be back soon and I'm sure you won't even miss me. :)

THOR!
Sorry, had to get it out of me.
Really. Thor. Holy crap. God of thunderness.

Okay, stupid over, serious now.

Good luck with life and all. ;)

//edit: Wasn't meant in a bad way. Just didn't know Thor was used as a name before.
They totally came to to the future and stole my idea.

(In all seriousness though, yeah, It does suck when someone dies. My grandfather died last year...and that sucked too. Not much you can say. Sympathy x20 for the tater.)

aww man! you mean tesia was going to come too?! *pouts* i always miss these things when i to bed for the night. bah.

although i must tout the wonders of an evening with a koba. i'm glad you stayed for dinner. it was nice to have someone to chat with other than my mother. :)

*smiles* and no worries. i actually expected some reaction to the name. it's .. unusual. i always thought it was cool, though

i wasn't sure if that would be out of line or not, so i figure, "better safe than sorry."

staying was my pleasure! i hadn't eaten all day, and mom couldn't be arsed to make dinner, so. plus it was really tasty. yuuuuum.

and yeah, she opted out to stay home with her sick brother and watch movies instead. how lame is that? :robot:

Ouch.

That's painful to hear.

(ANd to think I'm going into Basic Military Training, being madatory in Singapore......)

While I may never see actual action, I do realise the dangers of being in the uniform, and it's painful to hear that.

it's been a while and i'm back, so i'm updating.

things went as smoothly as could be expected. i was glad to see John. he looked well considering the circumstances. i still miss Thor. the collages of pictures they made were amazing. there were several that i had forgotten exsisted. plopped on my couch next to John, grinning at the camera as if he had just pulled off some great prank that was about to be discovered. he probably had. he got a purple heart and a bronze star. it's hard not to sneer at such things. i try because i know Thor would have been proud.

my sweet Drew, my shelter, my peace and keeper of my heart was amazing as well. he took time ... he made time. he was a true knight in shining armor for me as i cried in his arms. i was so glad that he was there. it made things easier having him with me. the poor thing even braved my family to be there for me. sacrifices that i will not soon forget.

i had a funeral and then a wedding. my best friend got married this past weekend in Toronto. it was a good thing and a happy occasion. a much needed release from the prior weekend. for the first time in ages she seemed to be really happy. i hope it lasts for her. oh, and if you're afraid of heights, avoid the CN tower. stupid space pod.

so things are settling in and i'm back in buffalo for the time being. between schoolwork and housework i'm a regular June Cleaver ... only in college .. yeah. i even planted a flower garden. we get to hang out with the kids this weekend. i hope the weather stays nice. i'm doing okay.

so what's new with you guys?

Wow, a marriage, eh? Wait, is this Jac we're talking about, or am I confusing friends?

I painted a picture of myself in underpants, yesterday. That's about it.

nope, Jac is currently very single. Adriene and her girlfriend Rissa. well her wife Rissa. at least in Canada. yeah, that's why it was in Toronto. but it was all good.

haha! man you do ALL the cool stuff. i bet Aaron liked that one. is it hung in the bedroom yet? ;) Drew wanted to steal a large poster of a lingerie clad model with a perfume bottle clutched to her left breast. he said it looked like a vibrator. i told him only if i could put up a picture of a half-naked man too. he decided the picture was too big. so when are you coming back to visit again?

Sometime soon, I hope. Probably not this year though, thanks to a stifling academic schedule. :(

Haha, no, no boudoir paintings yet. I'll have to show it here when it's done. It's very.... uncharacteristically badass-y.
