AT ALL

I never even collected super hero cards, at all. I was more entertained in the card games, made by greedy Japenese companies...

What's sad is, I quit playing in like 3rd grade, but I can name all 150 old pokemon, if I really had to.

not in san antonio, they don't. not in the Henry Edward Butt store.

töm
05-18-2005, 08:00 PM
they took them off the market for, like, five years.

then redesigned the mascot and reintroduced them. then no one knew what to do and freaked out. so nobody buys them anymore.

i liked them well in kindergarten.

What can I say, the furthering of a purely American race is all I strive for, even though that's impossible seeing as we're just a conglomerate of other cultures. But I can't have anyone saying that. I'm to racist to hear the truth and not implode.

some people liked to dip.

some people liked to dunk.

I liked to carefully allocate my frosting on a per-cookie basis, allowing for a .05% margin of error based on cookie crumbs.

I miss good cartoons like Pinky and the Brain.

And then there were those japanese card games that I bought until there were like a bazillion sets and everything got all confusing and complicated and I lost all my money and I got tired of the game but the value of the cards had plumetted so far that I couldn't sell them for squat. I don't miss those at all.

But Digimon was horrible.

That is, once Apocalymon was killed and the digi-destined went back to earth and shouldn't have been allowed back in but were anyway in the next season which sucked.

Wow, I just scared myself.

Pfft, those weren't "X-men" cards. That was the whole marvel universe my friend, and Man were they awesome!

Man... I remember ditching school to go play mortal kombat 2 when it first came out.

Ha ha! Remember the yo-yo ball? The yo yo's that worked on an elastic so they always came back, no matter what?

DEVIL STICKS!!!

Everyone in my elementary school had those things. That is, until we all realized playing with glorified batons was pretty gay.

man i know they were the whole marvel universe it's just that that's what i referred to them as when i was little, so the name kinda stuck with me

haha once i got a necklace with the mk dragon on it from a grab machine at the arcade and i kept hiding it from my dad cause he hated that game and i thought he'd yell at me or something

Reef you aren't alone.

I had an assload of the cards, many from Marvel, some from DC, all cool.

I had like an entire album full, and a second one growing. Lots of money.

Now they aren't worth anything.

I miss...god...I dunno what I miss. I suppose the things I miss are on more of a personal sentimentality level and quite possibly a spiritual one. I don't know...maybe...oh yes...VHS tapes, and the VHS rewinder I had...those were the times. The rewinder broke, and exploded. I also miss taking apart really old toys that I found at yard sales and making new ones out of them...

05-19-2005, 03:51 PM
oh, EVERYONE gets heartburn here. 7 out of 10 of my friends have tums with them at all times. it sells better than chaser here.

It's college food, my friend. high-priced, High-fat, high-fried, and much, much sauce, to hide the horrible taste. Oh, believe you me, we've tried boycotting and protesting, but it's a state school. there's not much we can do. in order to live on campus, you have to have a meal plan, and ALL the food places all carry the same crap.

and of course, there's town food. but that costs *real* money.

laserdisc
low-budget Nickelodeon shows from Canada
those little sour candies that came in tiny plastic trash can
i remember we'd have flea markets, and half the people would be selling pokemon cards for $20 to 8-year olds
and all my friends had counterfeit ones to be smartasses

Adnama
05-19-2005, 04:13 PM
you can still get ramen everywhere here in West Virginia-Dollar Store, Big Lots-and Save-a-Lot, baby. i have no idea if anyone else has heard of those stores. the only other time i saw a Dollar Store was in South Carolina once...

Davey Rootbeer
05-19-2005, 04:15 PM
Oh, sure, there's ramen. but you can only eat like that so many times a week.

Just take my advice: when you check out a school, make sure you go check out the food places on and offcampus. ALL of them. not just for taste, too, if you're going to live there for 4 years.

I've gained 20 pounds, and developed a myriad of health problems, which has a damn good probability of being caused by the lack of food choices and resources here in the last 3 years. I have a friend here who's been sick for nearly the whole semester, and it might have something to do with the food here.

I know what you mean. I burnt out on ramen last last summer. couldn't eat it for a few months.

what about beef salad? and instead of vinegrette, it's A-1? and instead of lettuce it's potato chips?

i'm a sucker for this pecan-crusted chicken salad they have at tgifridays. and. oh my god. at copeland's in new orleans they have this grilled chicken pecan salad that literally descended from heaven and onto my table. LITERALLY. i'm not kidding.

I'm not in college, but I can imagine that the food isn't much better then the stuff we get served now. Well...maybe. Our food is almost literally the leftovers from nearby prisons. We have to pay a $1.75 for microwaved chicken, and baked tater tots. We don't have a tuition to pay of course, so their excuse that they don't have enough money, can suffice.

But thank god I get out Wednsday. I dunno if I could handle it.
Subway kicks ass Davey. Order a chicken tariaqui, and only that...trust me.

left over from prisons? hm. well, the people who cater for Fordham University also cater for prisons (and the Tour de France, if you could believe it). this begs the question: are the prisoners getting gourmet food, or are the college students getting prison food?
