All right, so I just got back from the Dear Friends concert down in Hartford, CT today. I'm still getting flashes of post-orgasmic happiness.

All right. It was in the Bushnell theater, which if anyone has ever been there is FUCKING GORGEOUS. It's all Art-Decoy, but not annoyingly so. My friend had managed to score 2nd section 1st row mezzanine seats, which means that we could see EVERYTHING on stage. Happy.

I really think that hall must have had the lowest average age in its entire history that night. There were people there dressed up as Sephiroth, Aeris, Tifa, Tidus and Vincent, some with t-shirts, most others dressed pretty decently. But that's just the catty girl in me talking. ^_^

ANYWAY! ONTO THE MUSIC!!
The program went something like this:
-Liberi Fatalis (VIII)
-Zanarkand (X)
-Terra's Theme (VI)
-Theme of Love (IV)
-Dear Friends (V)
-Vamo' Alla Flamenco (IX)
-Love Grows (VIII)

Intermission

-Aeris' Theme (VII)
-Not Alone (IX)
-Ronfalure (XI)
-Final Fantasy I-III Medley
-Final Fantasy: Advent Children music
-Final Fantasy (Later determined to be the victory music from VI)

ENCORE!!!!
ONE WINGED ANGEL!!!!

::dies from squee::

I really want to get the sheet music and play the games and ...and...::hyperventilates and crashes to the floor::

Liberi Fatalis was just incredible, as were the guitar bits for Vamo' Alla Flamenco and Dear Friends, though some jackass in the crowd apparently knew the player and kept on yelling "ALEX!" before and after the pieces. By the end of the last song, the sheer HATE directed at that guy was something to be amazed at.

There's really not much I can say about the concert, other than it was wonderful and fantastic, and I hope like HELL More Friends ends up doing a similar circuit.

You know, I never really saw what was so cool about Final Fantasy.

I guess I'm just unorthodox. Yay?

Oh, okay.
Yeah. I agree with that. Though I have only played part of X and a bit I. I did like the music.

These damn things were $25 each. They're just programs with pretty art and stuff, but they were a damn $25.

I was surprised to find that Dear Friends was still touring. I mean, the concert being last year for me and all. The Disney Concert Hall was absolutely beautiful.

I actually liked More Friends than I did Dear Friends. More Friends had the orchestra, yes, but oh so much more. Seeing Black Mages in concert was amazing. And, oh Jesus, Black Mages + orchestra + chorus for One Winged Angel... only Uematsu could put something like that together. It was absolutely amazing. I really wish I had spent the extra $15 for better tickets, but I originally paid $90 for Dear Friends. Actually, my parents did, they were excited about it too and they went with me. They're Uematsu fans as well.

I just came back from setting up my room and being happy to be home, then i saw this, and remembered that i couldn't go, and probably never will get a chance to again.

Now i'm sad.

hum. Uchan, maybe yours were just more expensive. The programs and shirts they were selling at my concert were only 20 bucks, and the poster was 10.

Hey, at least you COULD go. I live half an hour from the concert, but NOOOO it's the same day that I leave town. BAH I SAY!

Woah, another Zig. Huh.

Anyways, congrats on going. I really wanted to go when I heard how close the concert would be (Hartford is about a 2 hour drive for me) and I begged my Dad and all but he said I would have to buy the tickets myself aka I can't go because I hate spending money. By the sounds of the music played I wouldn't have heard most of the music before, me being mostly and only a Final Fantasy VII fan. Although I would have LOVED to hear Aeris' Theme (Still makes me cry when I hear it,) Advent Children, and fucking crawled onto the stage during One-Winged Angel, the rest of the music, as good as I'm sure it is, doesn't have much interest for me. If they had a FFVII concert that I would kill my family to go, but cashing half my bank balance (Not to mention getting a ride) seemed somewhat excess for just a few songs even if they were amazing. Plus I've been obsessing World of Warcraft for the last month or so and forgot all about it. But I'm glad you had a good time, slighty depressed I wan't there as well, but that's just how it goes. Maybe when they do another loop I'll stop being a Scrooge with my money long enough to go.
