View Full Version : CGI Movies > you
I've been sneaking around inside the headquarters of the Internet Movie Database and got some information on Pixar/Dreamworks/Disney's next CGI projects. Some of these look seriously good.
CARS
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0317219/
If the trailer made this look bad, just remember that early Pixar trailers (especially the ones for Monsters Inc and The Incredibles) never, never, NEVER are indicative of the finished project.
Ratatouille
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0382932/
Finally, a movie where rats are good guys!
Toy Story 3
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435761/combined
If Pixar does it, it'll be an Oscar winner. If Disney does it (and they have the rights) it'll suck.
Over The Hedge
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0435761/combined
Unfortunately, Avril Lavigne does a voice in this film. But it IS based on a kickass comic stip.
Flushed Away
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0424095/
A rat movie made by Dreamworks, to come out when Ratatouille does. A Bug's Life VS Antz, anyone? Finding Nemo VS Shark Tale, anybody?
Chicken Little
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371606/
If Disney pulls this off, they can prove they're able to survive without Pixar. If not...well, they'll continue sucking.
Tortoise Vs. Hare
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0378894/
More like Monkey Vs. Robot.
Bee Movie
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389790/
It's a movie. About bees. I like bees.
Puss In Boots
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0448694/
Holy CRAP. This is going to be awesome.
Discuss.

They're making a movie about bees? A CGI movie about bees?
Hell yes. Hell. Yes.

Ratatouille looks like a good movie. Cars seems like a toy advertisement, but I don't think it's possible for pixar to make a bad movie with their track record of not making bad movies.

Cars: It's pixar so it will be of quality, but I don't imagine that it will top Finding Nemo.
Ratatouille: Another pixar film again, it looks like. I bet I'll see it.
Toy Story 3: I see no mention of Pixar anywhere in the credits. This is a Disney film and will blow monkey scrotum. I will not see this film.
Over the Hedge: "A mischievous racoon and his sensitive best-buddy turtle along with other forest creatures try to resist the evils and temptations of encroaching suburbia." So a gay animal couple preaches to us about land development? Uh...pass.
Flushed Away: Easily entertaining, but has a danger of becoming dull.
Chicken Little: The ad campaign pissed me off. I won't go see this movie. Looks gay anyway.
Tortoise vs. Hare: How the hell are they going to drag out a children's story in "docu-vision" for 90 minutes? I'd go nuts by minute 5.
Bee Movie: Hell yes. What is more funny than bees? This could easily be a good movie. Oh should I say "bee" a good movie!! Ha ha ha ha!! *uh oh*
Puss in Boots: "How Puss got his grove back," "Saturday Puss Adventure," "Puss does Hollywood," "P is for Puss." Any one of those is good.

They all look like they are going to suck. I don't want to watch a movie about rats, cars, chickens, bees, or cats. They all seem...childish. But who am I to judge, I have to wait for trailers and such.
Well considering I saw the trailer for Cars, I can say that it doesn't look too awesome. And I won't waste nine bucks on a ticket for it.

bee movie is going to kick more ass than "seinfeld" ever did. and certainly have a more satisfying ending.

I can see seinfeld doing bees because he's got that annoying voice.
Robot....what in the name of Tina Fey is that picture in your sig?

I think it's a kid dressed as a rabbit going to the bathroom.... but I've been wondering what it is, too.

I agree with everything she said....of course. Except that Flushed away has the same reek of Antz and Shark Tale (not fond of either) and I'm not so quick to dismiss Chicken Little.
Bee movie = yes.

I think Flushed Away, if Aardman is helping with the project, was going to be claymation. Either that or it was some other movie about rats.
Oh, and I saw a sneek peak of Bee Movie at some animation convention. It was an animatic with dialogue recorded by people who arn't doing the actual voices. But it was very funny.

i am excited about bee movie
very creative title
and although toy story 3 will probably suck because it will be disney only
the plot kind of sounds promising
ps gummo is the worst movie in the whole world

Just the basics. I can go to stores and buy the things I need, apologize when I bump into people, be indecisive (I learned "or not" a while ago), and get around for the mount part. I'm learning to count, also. ^_^ I'm up to, like, a hundred. We have language lessons three days a week, and every other day, well, I am LIVING here, so I'm learning. It's gradual, though.

Holy CRAP. This is going to be awesome.
i hate you
Do you? Do you REALLY? Or do you just hate one of my opinions?
It's entirely possible that the movie will be good, if it's written by the Shrek writers and actually has a decent storyline. Besides, Puss In Boots was a neat character.
In my opinion.
Which you hate.
I think Flushed Away, if Aardman is helping with the project, was going to be claymation. Either that or it was some other movie about rats.
I wasn't sure. The info I read at IMDB was poorly written, and I couldn't determine whether it was going to be claymation or CGI.
Which is sad if you think about it.

As long is Puss in Boots is made for theater release, and not DVD release, it will be fine.

Actually according to this site and CountingDown.com, Dreamworks has announced a direct-to-video release for this one. So I guess since this is the case, we can pretty much call this project a no-go, but I'm still not sure about it, it IS said that Puss did steal the movie, let's just hope his popularity isn't everything.
As for their Bee movie, well though I'm not really a fan of Dreamworks's animation productions(I don't really care for Shrek), I guess I'll give this a try. Please god, no more mediocre like Shark Tale.
Toy Story 3 with no Pixar? Disney wanting to make sequels that destroy their originals for the sake of milking money from them? Michael Eisener says Pixar is horrible? No thank you, Disney is just going to have to sit and rot with this dead project.

Puss in Boots is gonna get his own movie? Awesome!
Oh, crap. It's straight-to-video. -_-;; I bet it won't even have Antonio Banderas in it.
I bet it won't even have Antonio Banderas in it.
No, I think he's still along for the ride, at least that's what IMDB says.
Oh yeah, and speaking of Shrek, he's going to broadway in his new musical in 2006, no joke. Isn't that exciting?

How are they going to do Toy Story 3 when that Ernest fellow is dead?

yay bees!
*hums evil death bee song*
How are they going to do Toy Story 3 when that Ernest fellow is dead?
Disney is always in the mood for replacements, they'll hire a whole new crew and voice actors if they had to, which I'm sure is exactly what's going to happen with TS3.

I'm meeting Chris Wedge, who directed robots and ice age, in a couple of weeks.
quick, what was robots about?
quick, what was robots about?
..Robots.
Seriously though, it's about a robot who grows up in a robot world, going to follow his dreams to the "big city" and so on and so forth.
