hey you guys. i figure i'd grace ontopic with a more substantial piece of my presence than my little one-liner posts.
this is a "conspiracy theory" that i have been interested in since i was 15 or so.
you can read all about it here: http://www.sonic.net/sentinel/gvcon7.html
to sum up: the Department of Justice ordered a bunch of software from a company called Inslaw. The DoJ then never coughed up the money and tried as hard as they could to run Inslaw into the ground.
the program was a rather exceptional one called PROMIS (PROsecutor's Management Information System, or something similar). it was designed to help the Justice Department keep track of its myriad of cases, allowing the user all kinds of information at your fingertips, to keep track of a lot of things in an incredibly efficient way. the DoJ ordered it, didn't pay for it, and turned around and sold it to governments in South America, Canada, the UK, Israel, and probably more as well. there, it was modified to keep track of police, insurgents, submarines, or anything else of that nature.
lots of people who oppose or try to expose the DoJ end up dead, the most notable of which was Danny Casolaro.
Danny Casolaro was an investigative journalist who began to examine the Inslaw case as a favour, though soon he found information to suggest there exists "a transnational power bloc pursuing its own interests through subversion and overthrow of governments, dirty money and extra-electoral manipulation" that extends far beyond the bankruptcy of a small software company. things like Iran-Contra and the October Suprise come into play.
so anyway. this is really my kinda thing (i am a conspiracy theory whore) and i thought i'd pass it along to you guys. is it interesting? am i crazy? are they watching us RIGHT NOW?
i'd give a more detailed outline of it, but i'm eager to post this up. i'll probably give a more thorough explanation of it later. right now i need to call my boss.
