Any opinions?
Personally, I'm all for them, as you can probably imagine. (*Points to signature*)
We're people, too, and we deserve the same basic rights as everyone else. The American Constitution guarantees 'life, liberty, and the persuit of happiness,' and says that 'ALL men are created equal'. Am I right?

and you expect anyone to really disagree with you?
ummm. there's not really a whole lot to discuss. we're all pretty flamingly liberal, here.

I'm all for gay rights unless we're talking about the 14 to 16 year olds on Gaia that start "sexy hot tub party, t or d GAY BOYS ONLY" or "HOT LESBEAN SLOTS NO BOYS" chat rooms in the casino area and then cry OMG DISCRIMINTAION if you tell them to knock it off because sex period is against the TOS and is likely to get the gaming features revoked just like every other cool interpersonal feature has been.
THAT really bakes my buiscuit. "Equality" does not mean "special compensation". But that goes for anybody that uses the gender/race/disability card as some kind of excuse to be an asshole.

wait, people actually try to enforce the 'no sex' part of the Gaia TOS?
holy shit, that's news tome. i thought people weren't hanging out with me because i sucked.

you know what? i will rant about something tangentially related, because it pisses me off.
why is it so trendy to be gay, now? i mean, human sexuality is a complex thing and it's wonderful that we're beginning to be so open about it blah blah blah, but it seems that every girl who hasn't established herself as a bible-toting jesus freak is playing the, 'teehee, i think girls are pretty, i'm bi!' card. no. you're not 'bisexual' until you've experienced extreme sexual pleasure (at the thought of) having sex with another female. fucking argh. attention whores, all of them.

That annoyed me when I was a Gaia member, too.
I quit going there because I got hit on WAY too often.
That's obviously not the case here.

I've experienced extreme pleasure at the thought of it.
And I don't do it because it's a trend.
In fact, people hate it where I'm from.
It's one of the reasons I'm picked on at school.

i'm not accusing you; trust me, if i were, i would say so.
i've just come across so many people who treat sexuality as (to use a friend's words) a sorority. one of my 'friends' does this and it pisses me off to no end. she constantly flaunts her 'bisexuality' around and claims to have impeccable gaydar and so on.
personally, i think everyone is pretty much bi, to some extent or another. some just exaggerate it, others just surpress it.

I think the problem stems from teenagers being stupid and/or wanting attention.
It's the same thing as teenage anarchists or teenage goths or whatever. Teenagers are, for the most part, pretty fucking stupid.

I think that men and women having separate restrooms is somewhat discriminating, especially since the purpose of separate restrooms is nullified by the fact that there are gays and lesbians in the world, anyway.
the persuit of happiness
What if my idea of happiness is killing fags?
on another note,
I was at the mall with my fag and his soontobe boyfriend and they were holding hands and all these kids kept passing by staring at the hands and this one kid was like, to his companion, "hey look back there" and all this. I wanted to beat the shit out of him. Why is it acceptable for girls to be gay and not guys?
Also, I think all outmaking in public is gross, hetero or homo or hell if you have three people, bi. But somehow, being disgusted at gay people making out in public is discrimination, but I am just disgusted by anybody making out who is not me.

Try living in the south, this place is still stuck in the fifties. I swear, I cannot rest peacefully until South Carolina is set on fire and sawed loose from the US.
Then we start the "re-education" camps for fundies. Except these'll have gas chambers.
I hate south carolina. Too many churches, not enough tattoo parlors.
And it's too dusty.

Actually, tatoo-ing is illegal here. Some whole "health issues" thing pushed by a right-wing douchebag who is probably an alchoholic, a pedophile, and a child beater.
I didn't know tattooing was illegal anywhere.
Geez. SC sucks. There is like nothing there. I kept looking for signs of underground alternative culture in the alleyways and such but I found none.

There are some tiny remnants of them in columbia, near the middle. There are some kickass bars, hippie/vintage clothing stores, alternative theaters, natural grocery stores, and a couple of other things. You just have to dig past the stinky rednecks, their horrible culture, and the fucking endless streams of Wal-Marts.
I was in Greenville. Ever heard of it?
My granny lives there.

I'm going to school there, starting August 13. I'm going to a live-in Art-high-School. The best thing is you can go to downtown Greenville if you don't have a class at that time.
I was surprised though because people were more polite to me there than they are down here where the way I look is more common. My grandma was born and raised in SC I think, real hillbilly, but she doesn't mind at all the way I dress and just appreciates the diversity in peoples' preferances. She didn't think much of it. It's cool. For all their right-winged conservativeness, the people didn't seem very judgmental.

Greenville's really an artist's town, when you look deeper.
School there (I'm going for two years.) is going to kick ass, they have an alternative film-club, private park, and smoking support groups.
That's awesome.
it didn't seem artsy to me, but we were probably in the suburbs. I was amazed at how old and undeveloped the whole place seemed. No dirty cities like we have down here, that I saw. Even the city parts are... not the same. It all seemed so plain, the whole state.

Downtown Greenville is one of the few good places left in SC. There isn't a Wal-Mart too close, so all the stores are Mom 'n Pop businesses, which means that since 'The Wal' hasn't monopolized every product, you get lower prices.
There's a hippy run coffee house, which really only exists for its basement, where you buy and smoke cheap pot. A mellow mushroom pizza, which uses all-natural ingredients so that their food doesn't taste like grease dipped cardboard. Best of all there's a hippie clothing store that sells everything that I want.
Sweet.
Isn't there some place in Greenville called Frodo's Pizza that was originally Tolkien themed? I think we ate there.

Normally I wouldn't care, but when they start doing it just for publicity and attention, then I just despise them completely. One time I was looking through new released games at Walmart, then this guy comes up to me with his girl friend slobbering all over his neck, making moaning sounds as she does while he's just uneffected by it and asking me if a game was in. All everybody else could do was just stand and stare at us, while a couple of nearby parents evacuated their young ones as fast as they could.
"Look at us, we're kissing with tongues where everybody can see us, aren't we mature and cool?!". I mean, if they do it out of love for their relationship in a small shady spot in public, then that's fine, but when you just walk up to someone with some girl in your arms rubbing all over you, then for lord's sake take it somewhere else.

Totally. I know plenty of kids who kiss in public for attention. I've never kissed in public. Although that is starting to wane since my lovey isn't allowed to talk to me anymore and the only place I'll ever see him is at school, if he hasn't switched schools. I'm so excited about the first day of school because I'll get to see him. I think I'll just walk up to him and start molesting him.
Is that abiding by the code of cool?
Mwahahaa.... I do kiss my boyfriend in public, and we hardly lose contact with eachother and occasionally get distracted from conversation just by looking at each other.... for a while I was ashamed of us, but it's not like we do it for kicks or attention, we're just a horribly soppy cuple :o I was at a 5euro for unlimited games thing in the arcade yesterday with a bunch of people and the pair of us were playing the two player shooting games like virtua cop and house of the dead together. It felt very bonny and clyde... 'specially since I kept killing all the civilians...
I hate seeing kids eat eachothers faces off in public though... that's kinda gross...
And though I've kissed girls for a mixture of personal experimentation and a reaction from the guys, I still think it's sad when I see a pair of lesbiens making out in the middle of my lovely rockbar. It's sadder 'cause all the guys in there are used to it and some of them have been with lesbiens and bis and have decided they need to get a life beyond sex.
I do know this one girl (my boyfriends ex) who thinks she's bi, but I just think she's scared of guys and girls are easier for her to deal with.
