Here is the plan.
the NEW plan consists of us strapping the figure directly to the can of, I believe, WD40, covering the head of the figure with vaseline, and setting the can so that it sprays by itself, and lighting the stream from the can on fire.
That of course, would be horribly stupid. Should I do this? Like light it from afar, with the camera right next do it behind plexi glass or something? WILL THE CAN EXPLODE?!?!

you retard.
why don't you just strap him to a can and throw him into an already burning fire? you'll at least have time to take cover, that way.
jesus christ, dude. this is the worst place to be looking for advice like this.
Dude, I would say no. I love the idea. I like where it is going, but it is far too risky even with precautions.
Honestly it won't work unless there will be some sort of serious consequence. Either you hurt yourself or destroy something. If you don't mind either of those, go ahead, but I advise you not too.

Here's a question for ya:
How will you make the can of WD40 explode when... get this...
There's no air inside of it?
I MEAN, IF EXPLOSIONS REQUIRE OXYGEN
WHICH I'M NOT SAYING THEY DO

I actually want to know this, though: Is it possible to make a WD40 can explode if you ignite the liquid coming out of it?
I've heard that it doesn't, but I must know.

I'm pretty sure that explosions need oxygen, though, and the inside of a pressurized can is definitely anaerobic, seeing as most of the time they're pressurized with nitrogen.

wd40 + match = portable flamethrower

Seeing as the propellant is shooting the liquid out of a pinhole-sized opening at pretty high speeds, I'd doubt that enough oxygen was being let in to allow there to be an ignition.

I believe they use NO2, which is an oxidizer and also why silly teens huff whipped cream cans.
