IF YOU HAVE A VEHICLE, IM ASKING YOU, BEFORE YOU START RIPPING OUT WIRES AND MESSING WITH THE ENGINE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

I bought a piaggio bravo vespa for ten dollars because it didnt run.

so close to getting it to run with the guy who's helping me on it goes "well what the fuck?"

I'd draw a diagram, im too lazy- apparently, the person who owned it before me was a dumbass and tried "fixing" some parts of the engine, mainly the shaft and the points, "the points" basically split up electricity to help distribute power to the sparkplug, and back into the engine, without these, it doesnt run, so were sitting there, picking through the grime (it was made in 77, not a good year) and noticed the wheel on the engine that fires the points squeeks and was stiff, not good, so he's going to tear apart the entire engine, try to cut the shaft more (it usually has a square tip, its completely round, hahaha gay joeks) and put it back together.

So please, once again, before you throw something away, or try to fix it, think of people like me, PLEASE KNOW WHAT THE FUCK YOU ARE DOING.

Because I live in the country now, and my neighborhood is connected by long-ass gravel roads and many hills.

bikes and gravel roads/gravel hills dont mix.

I got a free Honda Metropolitan today. I won the contest back on grad nite at Disneyland, and after filling out the tax forms, picked it up. Finally.

Isn't it cute?

I'm so looking forward to selling it, as I have no use for a scooter whatsoever. I can probably get rid of it for $1500 (I think it goes for $1859 or something).

I'd ride it instead of sell it. Not as cute as a Vespa, but not bad. What do you owe for that in taxes, around $180? Oh, how is gas out there in CA? Are you over $3 a gal yet? We're at $2.77. It's sad when it costs $14 to fill up my motorcycle. Back when I started driving, $14 filled up my truck. I switch from a truck getting 13miles/gal to a motorcycle getting over 50miles/gal and pay as much to ges the bike as I did to gas my truck 9 years ago. No inflation my ass. Oh, and the median house in central Tucson in 2002 was $90,000. Now they are going for $325,000 in town. At over $300 per squre foot, I think I'd rather be in L.A. or Portland.

That's weird, linny; we're neck and neck with gas prices. i just filled up for 2.78 a gallon today. I was under the impression gas would still be cheaper out in Tucson.

I really can't ride it. I can't even get up the hill to my house with that thing. Plus, I'm probably going to be commuting to college, and a scooter isn't going to transport 23"x26" drawing boards, giant pads of paper, and boxes for art supplies. I need to take the freeway to get to college also, and it only goes up to 40mph. No freeways, no storage, no power, no use.

Gas is $2.81ish in La Canada, and the median house price was around $800,000 in 2000. It's probably around $1.5mil, I'll have to look it up.

Not really. I do bitch because the car and the bike both take 91. 87 is $2.60ish. That would make a full tank on the bike $13. w00t! Oh, still trying to get your Vespa sold. Check your email.

On a side note, Heather and I went to IKEA on Saturday. ROCKED!!! Everything was great, the GLBT caravan, trading the convertable and motorcycle for a day to get my parents styation wagon. Having a day off work:):):) Dinner at Z Tejas and hanging out at Solar Culture at 24th and McDowell. Only complaint: All the fucking people at IKEA. God damn, it's like a breeder bomb exploded. Why the fuck does everybody bring thier three year old to IKEA so shop for four hours? I have a hard enought time shoping for that long, kids have an attention span of what, 15 sec? No shit your kid is gonna cry all day!!! And we were the only ones without kids. Oh, the pain. Getting bags and bags and bags and bags of cute stuff to put in the house for $50 and a loft for the office for $150 was worth it though.

Oh, good call. $1,500 buys art supplies for what, half a semester? Hey, it's money you don't need to borrow fcor school:):):)

I don't know how art majors do it. They spend tremendous amounts on supplies. Books and software for an engineering semester runs about a grand, art supplies are more. How the fuck do you people do it? I atleast chose to be underpaid doing somehting I love at $40K when I got done. Hats off to all you artists; you are all better than me.

It's because they started putting those "playplace" kind of dealies on every floor, which people seem to want to treat as free daycare, even though there's posted signage saying "don't leave your ill-mannered primates unsupervised to run loose in the store". RAAAAAARGH. I hate it when lazy parents take that "It takes a village" shit to heart. Since when did I sign up to raise your booger beast? *rage*

I don't really have anything to do with money in my family. They pay for everything art related without a question, so I really don't have to worry about that. Also, I probably have a lot of what they require (books too), so I'm sure that helps.

When it comes to programs though, my dad usually buys one version and downloads the rest or gets it from a friend.

In other news today, daammn. I think I might have to save up for a vespa now. I have no idea how I'm managing on two legs.

When the breeders assumed that they are better than you because they shat crotch dropings. They think that they are saving the species and doing god's work my ensuring another generation. That's all fine and dandy when infant mortality is high and the life expectancy is low. Yeah, have lots of kids, we need them. But in modern society, there are already too many people. Anybody ever been shopping, tried to buy a house, apply for a job? There are too many people and not enough resources (how else do yo uexplain $150,000 for a condemmed (not even section 8) 500 sqft single bedroom house that is a complete restoration, it's in too bad a shape to be listed as a fixer upper, in a town where the average income is $20,000 a year. I think there are alot of shitty parents out there. You have to ba a horrible parent to force your kid to endure four or more hours of shopping. And they make family field trips of it too. What ever happened to one parent staying home with the kids where they are comfterable and have some stimulation while the other parent does the shopping? Switch off every week so that one does not get burned out. Worked just fine for my parents.

Nice. You are one lucky person. Enjoy it. I had to smuggle drugs across the border to be able to eat once. The other time, I traded some weed and oxycotton that a freind had given me for groceries so I could have something to eat until pay day. I financed one months rent and spring break one year byuy bringing back 100 vallium. Turned $100 into $500 buy selling "la rocha" to staff in my undergraduate department. I recieved $20,000 in scholarships ($12,000 of wich came my second senior year), worked part time the first three years and full-time the last three years, paid in-state tuition, and I still owe over $18,000. College is fucking expensive. All this to make $40,000 a year. Then again, without a degree, I could never make over $30,000.

Oh, no no no. Just well prepared. You sound like you'll do well, pay taxes, and support yourself without becoming a burden to society. And so your parents cover your books and tuition; that's nice. Live if California is expensive anyway.
