So all the talk of A Goofy Movie and people saying how the animation looks so bad, but they remembered it looking so much better..

Is there any particular thing you used to love as a kid, and looking back on it now, wonder what the hell you were thinking back then?

I recently got a Sonic the Hedgehog SatAM DVD (SatAM meaning, the 1993 Saturday Morning show, not 'Adventures of..' or 'Underground') Becuase, as a kid, i loved that show. to death.

And watching it now.. man was that show horrible.. i mean.. in less than a minute of the first episode, Sonic spouts off slang like 'lets do it to it!' 'gotta motor!' 'juice it and loose it!' 'way past cool!' the theme song and animation is just as cool as it used to be though.. Sonic sounds really stuffy.

Sonic was the same guy who played Urkel in Family Matters, that's probably why.

Remember the old Mega Man cartoon?

I wonder if Urkel just held his nostrils shut when he was voicing the character.

Yeah, i remember that show. It bored me to death.

Nah, I heard him talk in an interview once. That's more or less his real voice, only a little more nasally.

Okay, I'm gonna take this opportunity to bitch about A Goofy Movie some more. What is up with lead animation for this scene being so off-model? And I'm not talking about cartoony exaggeration in the keyframes, it seriously looks like it was drawn by three seperate teams that never shared model sheets. They seriously cannot decide what size the singer-dude's nose and shoulder pads need to be. It's freakish.

power rangers

like, on friday, I was flipping through the channels before school and managed to catch 15 minutes of the original power rangers. first off, Rita Repulsive's mouth didn't match her words (never noticed that as a kid) and the costumes for the monsters were awful. the episode I saw was the one where the pig eats everything, and the pig monster's costume had its arms basically comming out of its mouth.

however, as a kid, I did notice the shitty firecracker "explosives" and the fact that every episode ended the same.

it's still a kickass show though

I remember watching Lost Galaxy one day and I realized they basically just stole shit from Star Trek and then had the rangers beat things up.

So yeah Lost Galaxy was the only awesome Power Rangers spinoff besides the original

WHERE did you get Sonic Sat AM DVD?

eBay.

A few years back, DiC released a Sonic SatAM DVD. But Disney still had rights to the show, and told DiC to take it off the shelves a few weeks later.

This person apprently got a bunch of copies before the recall. He's only selling it for 21.99, so he must not know how rare the item is.

Inspector Gadget is on all the menus, though. So he can help the kiddies figure out how to work the DVD.

It is known that the creators of Sonic SatAM are Star Wars fans, and watching it again on DVD, it shows.

Dr Robotnik= Darth Vader

Swatbots= Storm Troopers

Nicole= R2-D2

Wizard from the Super Sonic episode= Yoda (seriously, listen to how he talks)

the creators just wanted to make a Star Wars cartoon, but decided to use videogame characters instead.

Anyone recall a lightsaber fight in the series? Becuase i could imagine one happening..

Other toons that are in the back of my head are:

Sonic SatAM (Sure,it had lame dialogue and poor character development, but the story seemed to be in the right place. This show had it awfully rough since it was going up against Power Rangers at the time which caused it to lose budget. Thus leading to rushed stories and forgettable/annoying characters all the way to a one-season ending.)

I miss digimon too. After season three it was.. meh..

I dont like the whole, kids turn into digimon bullshit. Season 5 though is going to be cooler. all 16-18 year olds, working for some goverment agency trying to protect people from evil digimon

Corn 2.0
03-01-2006, 05:06 AM
SHUT UP.

MYOTISMON WAS GREAT.

Also seaon five has the kids

TURN INTO DIGIMON

or something

like,

wtf

Aso Pirates of Dark Water

maaaan

that was a good show

but it had no ending

Like the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon

and the Spider-Man cartoon

The ones from the 90's.

;_;

BeezleborG
03-01-2006, 05:34 AM
Myotismon wasn't bad. I liked his return in Season 2 when he was in that Mega-whatever form. But after that the series went downhill so I stopped watching. Now there's a 5th season? Wow.

Also seaon five has the kids

TURN INTO DIGIMON

Woo. How (un)exciting.

jesus christ, i feel ancient. almost all of those cartoons were after school entertainment in middle school.

real childhood, like kindergarten to 5th grade were more like Rainbow Brite, Strawberry Shortcake, Transformers, He-Man, Jem ... man i used to get mad at my mom because i had to leave for school before Jem ended. I loved that show.

stuff like Darkwing Duck, Animaniacs, Tiny Toons, Tale Spin, Aladdin and all that stuff didn't come around until i was 5th to 6th grade.

it is also scary that i can remember a time before Cartoon Network exsisted. i miss the all day WB cartoons(old ones. bugs bunny, foghorn leghorn..). whatever happened to June Bugs, folks?

DairyMan88
03-01-2006, 11:23 AM

i'm not really sure about the last three movies though because i don't care about those seasons, so they might be longer than half an hour

whodaimen
03-01-2006, 11:41 AM
