i fucking hate EVERYONE.
spent all morning composing a musical score for a crappy 1950's animation, when it waired, the whole thing was desynched by half a second. but it couldn't be stopped. so had to wait 3 minutes till it was over.
also, it's fucking 80 degrees out, and everyone's lounging around having a good time, while i'm working my ass off to get flyers and BMI info done, burn some stupid CD's, plan scripts, and try to figure out why the hell i decided to GO to a rave party overnight this saturday, let alone drive up there.
but nooo. it's too late, there's no one else to drive, so i can't back out now, or i'll look like an asshole.
we need more horrible weather days, i always feel SO much better when everyone else is miserable.

Blush wine is hardly sophisticated. No offense, but it usually doesn't get much attention from the wineries.
And I don't know what you are getting so proud about, Kefka, it's not like Canadian beer is worth a hoot. Besides, there are lots of microbreweries in America that brew in European style. You should check out New Belgium (in Colorado); their 1554 black ale actually has a similar flavor and body to guiness, though it doesn't have the thickness. American beer is for when you just want something cheap to chug. Any American who is a beer fan (as opposed to a being drunk fan) knows that.
Beer, bourbon and scotch; those are the big three. Runners up are Italian wines and cabernets.

blargh, 4:20 always makes me think of bad things that happened in high school with a certain stoner friend of mine. mostly his being sad and pathetic and abadoning his real friends because he thought we didn't approve and winding up in a huge mess with a suspension and getting kicked out of acapella and almost getting kicked out of band. one of the brightest people i know, by the way. i think he's a langauge teacher in boston now. i miss him sometimes, as he was a good friend.
wine is nice with dinner or as an evening drink.
beer ... while i'm still not impressed, i will drink molson (and a few things at the microbrewery back in Bethlehem) because it's the only thing that doesn't taste like piss to me.
vodka is where it's at. vodka cranberry being my drink of choice, screwdrivers are fun too. the Argo white russian has yet to be surpassed.

Heh.. 4/20 is lost on me, as I didn't know what tater was talking about last night until I found this thread.
Blush wine depends on how it's made. Some are blends of varietals that can't stand on their own. Some are reds that are taken off the skins early, which can produce a nice character without the tannin. Apart from an occasional White Bordeaux, I don't care for them much.
In no particular order:
Beer - American microbrews or Canadian domestics, British ales.
Wine - Australian chardonnays, riesling, merlot, shiraz
Mixed - margueritas, vodka and most juices, the Argo White Russian
Straight - Bourbon, flavored vodkas.
(edit) Yeah, while Colorado and Washington microbreweries get most of the attention, upstate NY produces some very good beer. My two favorite microbrews - Saranac and Middle Ages - are in Utica and Syracuse.

My point exactly, alcohol is a drug. So technically when you drink your consuming a drug. Most people tend to consider the two as something different, when thet're not. Then theres nicotine, which I'm not even going to get into right now. I guess what I trying to say is; illegal or legal, a drugs a drug, thinking that it's not just proves the fact that SOMEONE has been fuc*ing with your head.

04-22-2006, 11:48 AM
i'm not trying to disprove you, i'm successfully indicating that her "dissociation" between alcohol and other drugs does not necessarily influence her biases towards either subject. the fact alone that she said "booh. drugs." is not adaquate proof that she has a problem with them BECAUSE they're considered drugs. it's far easier to say "yes i like alcohol and no, i don't like drugs" than it is to say "yes i like alcohol and no i don't like marijuana, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamines, ecstasy, prescription pills, ketamine, lsd, psylocybin-containing mushrooms, hashish, or any drugs i have not listed."
of course, you could make the argument that she could have said "yes, i like alcohol and no, i don't like other drugs" but that would mean that your statement that her head had been "f*cked with" was based solely on the fact that she did not use the word "other" in a sentence, making it both retarded and a pointless argument about semantics.

My first assumption was that these words have been seen and heard by quiet a few people. And if they're posting here, more then likely they've seen them almost their entire lives with the help of drug programs and such.
My second assumption was that these same people have seen enough alcohol commercials to negate any of the good, said drug programs may have had on preventing alcohol use.

Ill disagree there. There IS such a thing as pot heads... I dont consider myself one, but those kinds of people who do nothing but smoke pot all day... yeah, abusers. Yeah, but I think Derram's point was that people throw "pothead" around much more indiscriminately than "drunk" or "alcoholic." Yeah, don't they also use "yo" as a sort of exclamation mark? Japanese is becoming incresingly intergrated with western stuff; they have like a whole seperate set of english words that have different meanings in Japanese. Not without <s>beating horse bones</s> hitting a horse skeleton.
true. everything that could be said against japanese school uniforms was probably already done so when sailor moon was still the new thing.

And since there's at least one pedophile in every anime ever.
The day they make marridges to inanimate objects legal, Im marrying my game consoles.
They never say no, they dont get headaches, they'll do whatever I damn well want them to, and theres acutally a chance of success everytime I play.
Yeah, but in just 4 or 5 years your spouse will be replaced by a newer, better version (or in the event that you marry a Nintendo system, several revised versions will be released in the span of 1-3 years before a new product altogether is introduced) and they do not age gracefully. What you were once so attratced to will seem inadequate compared to newer, sexier models. Her disc drive will wear out and before ya know it she'll hardly be able to maintain a steady framerate...
coming soon to the PS4... PENIS PORTS! comes in three different sizes and colers.
If such a thing were introduced for a Microsoft product you'd better wait a year or two for revised CPUs to be manufactured, or else it'd singe off your pubic hair.
Question: why the hell am I continuing to talk about this?
And since there's at least one pedophile in every anime ever.
yeah, especially in those ones where there are no significant characters under sixteen to begin with.

yep, that sig sums up most of the reasons I've moved away from anime... It's sad really, used to study japanese just 'cause I was so into it. Course, now I'm addicted to manga...

which is why you could actually like this anime. the first episode parodies anime itself.

I've always been of the opinion that if an anime's going to parody itself it better be doing it damn well, because parody or not it's still an anime.
i think it does it damn well. it hits everything, down to the random engrish in the songs.

I smoke weed, but I don't consider it such a marvelous thing either. It's more like a bad habit I can't seem to break.yeah, that quite sucks. i have a friend who says he wants to cut down a lot, but he still gets visably angry when he can't find anything in our city. and <i>has</i> to drive an hour and a half to get some.
which is scary.

Well, I think this show looks fascinating. Too bad I have no access to bittorrent. Otherwise, count me in.
the episodes have been put on youtube, and the novels the series is based on are being translated --
