View Full Version : Sideways stories from Wayside High

has been made into a cartoon show, and is airing on Nick 12:30 weekdays.
I grew up with reading those books, and from the first episode i saw, they're pretty true to the personalities of the characters, or at least from what i can remember from books i read about 15 years ago.

well a lot of the humor was based on something seemingly normal leading up to a point and becoming very strange and random, and of course with reading books you kinda imagine what the characters look like yourself and if the show doesn't conform to that it's just very different. sometimes that's good, but sometimes it's not.
i think it's cool, though. i'd like to see where they take this.

man, i rememeber the 3 erics, the sleeping kid, the men in black with suitcases, and ms mush.
and the parallell dimention that the kid goes into where the students memorize the dictionary.

oh man the memories in my head
Remember when Louis shaved his mustache and then painted the blacktop black?
06-25-2007, 11:26 AM
hahah yesss, i do
i always thought louis was a fat old black man but in the cartoon he's a skinny young white dude

It was Louis Sachar's alter-ego, silly.
I think the second book ended it best though. I didn't expect a third book after that.
And i still remember...
Book 1= Everybody booed
Book 2= Everybody mooed
Book 3= Everybody ooohed.

I caught it by accident this morning, seemed decent enough although lacking in some of the humor of the books. Didn't really like the design of the school either, I had always imagined it a straight brick tower.
just have to see how to goes I suppose
also 2000 posts over near 4 years. woo.
