it sounds ridiculous when they say "THIS WILL CHANGE HOW MOVIES ARE MADE," but it might be true. it was pretty crazy, but pretty cool. even the credits were fun to look at. i could read those names all day long.

i fail to see how Speed Racer would change anything about how movies are made. unless they mean shooting things entirely in front of green screens (which is what it looked like, more or less).

I wanted to see this purely out of nostalgia for the original series, but I'm probably going to wait until it hits DVD.

But why is filming a movie entirely with green screens that revolutionary? George Lucas did that already with the Star Wars prequal trilogy, for better or for worse.

the good thing about working at the drive in is all the free movies i want

the first time i watched it i was baked so i didnt realize how much actual talking there was. it looks awesome and reminds me of the cartoon a lot, but jesus theres a lot of talking not enough racing amirite

Pretty much this. Also, I remember they were drinking milk at some point, and nobody dies in a car crash because they're all ejected in little cocoony egg cases a split second before impact.

I love this movie for the fact that sum total of the visual effects reads like a history of film effects from the 1890's on. But that's probably just me and my viz-effects aspergers flaring up.
