This thing was seriously the size of a small child. Below is the behemoth facing down a 12" lobster.

We actually went yesterday to see a <a href=http://arachnid.pepperdine.edu/grunion/when.htm>grunion run</a> at the beach near this aquarium, but we saw a grand total of two live fish before they were trampled and consumed by a sea of San Pedro rednecks and drunk teenagers running to catch them in their Big Gulp containers. The park rangers could do pretty much nothing to stop it, seeing as how they were outnumbered roughly 60 to 1.

My faith in humanity has diminished slightly.

Yeah lobsters get fuckin' huge. The store near my house sells ones the size of dogs.

Some of my compatriots and I saw some dead jellyfish washed ashore whilst swimming the other day. That was a few hours before an SUV spun out and flipped over in front of us on the highway. Later we went to an asian restaurant to satiate our mutual hankering for crab legs. A mostly pleasant evening it was.

Nice pictures, Ami. :)

And lobsters do get huge, but thanks to overfishing, we catch most of them when they are bite sized rather than full grown. Imagine the feast you would have if you fixed a dog sized own. Boiling it would be a problem, though.

The pictures are really good. I would not be happy meeting that thing out in the open water though.
