Have you listened to it yet? There's not as many epic moments on this album like the Juicy/Tiny Dancer bit on "Smash Your Head". But I like that he's working more of his glitchcore stuff into it. Kind of a tossup.

Speaking of laptop music though, does anybody here have some Merzbow they'd be willing to pirate for me? There's a distinct lack of it on Limewire.

You might actually like Girl Talk, Keith. I don't know if you're into mashups in general or not, but his stuff has a little more finesse than your standard internets DJ does. He doesn't do the "X vs. Y" format at all, it's just dozens of samples from all over the board at once. And it's basically 100% illegal music to begin with, so I don't feel bad uploading a copy of Night Ripper if you'd like.

I like the fact that if the RIAA or whatever wanted to take Gillis to court over his work, they'd have to spend like, 50 years just trying to determine where the samples came from in the first place before they could even get around to filing suit.

Also it should be noted that Girl Talk (née Gregg Gillis) left a perfectly good career in the biomedical sciences to go mix booty rap with 80's rock ballads and take his pants off in front of a crowd. That's some balls, there. I don't know whether to feel good that he's living the dream, or bad that there's one less person working in biotech now.
