Is it any good? I mean, I know it's Steve Carell and all
I used to watch the hell out of Get Smart reruns when I was a kid.

It is fan-fucking-tastic. They brought Mel Brooks and Buck Henry on board as advisors and there's lots of bits of the show in there (though you can see as much from the previews, I suppose). I haven't laughed that much in a theater since Clerks 2.
fun fact: The Rock went to high school in my neck of the woods. either Freedom or Liberty, I forget which. tater would know.

I was expecting this to be an utter trainwreck, as are most classic tv series remade for film, but I've heard decent things about it. My mother and father went to see it with my grandmother and they said it was pretty watchable, if not great.

bad. There are good parts though, and the movie they were making before the other directors came in was pretty funny.
But then they plaster another movie in place 45 minutes in and it just becomes awful.

well, at least I know what to expect...
I liked Hancock at first. Then things got stupid.

It's true, the initial movie is a lot of fun, good allegory to american interventionism, etc.
But then the other script writers and directors took over and ignored all of it. The changeover is pretty obvious.

I actually enjoy seeing Hancock & I thought it was a decent movie, and on a side note, theaters here are much bigger then the ones in NM.

I liked the first half and the very end. but after that first initial plot twist, they started adding all this other stuff. it was like they put a bunch of ideas in a hat, pulled out two or three, and added them in the movie.

I can't argue that the middle of the movie didn't seem random but, I didn't I went to go see it thinking it would possibly compare to the popular themed comic book movies of today. I just went to see it because I thought it was good for some laughs, and it was. It was even better than I thought would be. Though, I do agree that the first half and ending was better then middle. I might even get the DVD when it comes out just cause overall it was still enjoyable to me.

My sister saw Hancock. She didn't say much about it other than it was a decent movie, but not one she would want to watch again.
Sorta related, but I'm going to catch Hellboy II this evening, and I have to say I'm pretty excited.
I saw Hellboy II last night. I enjoyed it, but I was also half asleep because it was late.

they have? i never watch tv, so i have no idea which movies are advertised the most.
i don't particularly dislike tv. i just barely ever have time or interest to watch it.

I also really liked Hellboy II. I had soft spot for the villian in the movie though. Alot of the creatures that werent CGI'd looked really amazing on the movie screen ( at least to me anyway :o ).

but
Clerks 2 was really bad um excuse me no it wasn't
it was a heartwarming final chapter of the askewniverse made in a style that clearly emphasizes just how many john hughes movies kevin smith watched as a kid

Alot of the creatures that werent CGI'd looked really amazing on the movie screen Took the words right out of my mouth. :D The creature designs were some of the best I've seen in a movie in ages, and rival the original Star Wars trilogy. I mean, the Troll Market was like a fantasy version of the cantina scene. The Angel of Death stole the show for best design, though. It looked like something out of Revelations mixed with awesome.
But yeah, overall it was a great film and better than the first. I though the first was pretty good, so it's definitely well worth seeing.
The only thing to wait for now is the Dark Knight and the new Mummy flick. :)
