judging by the number of views, i guess this is one of those videos that everyone's seen by now. i'd never seen it before, though.

Nevermind YouTube, I remember that original episode. Everytime he has one of those types of shows, it's always ridiculously funny. The best part is when they have staff members come out on stage dressed up in whatever the guests are afraid of (ie, mustard; bubble wrap), they go running off stage screaming bloody murder! :D Daytime television sucks, but it's stuff like this that makes me laugh every time.

what makes me sad is I just started reading the books last week and I was all like "omgiwannamakeacomicofthissobad" and then on deviantart someone went and linked the cartoon.

I still might do a minicomic on my own anyways. just for the hells of it.

Actually, I rather enjoyed this 13 part series. Rather brutal stuff for a kids show.

Well, considering the two main bats are being pursued by CANNIBAL bats for about 90% of the time, with scenes of them engaging in sloppy eating and chewing sounds on innocent forest critters, it's pretty violent.

Best scenes: When Goth and Throbb (the two cannibal bats) devour a flock of "tagged" bats with little betal bands on their wings, they are next seen with scores of the metal bands lining their own wings. Spoils of the feast.

Also, Goth gets electrocuted, and while he's laying in a sprawled, smoking heap, a crow flies up and yells, "Not only is this bad <I>de-yead</I>, he's already <I>cooked</I>!" Right before Goth grabs him, the screen goes red, and feathers fly as he makes aforementioned sloppy eating noises and giggles gruesomely.

it's pretty damn brutal, I'd say. but that's what makes it so great.

know a friend of a friend of an animator who worked on it. it's basically the same cut as the "recobbled" version, but mostly just the pencil tests. this is on dvd, of course - it's not like I keep a 35mm projector around or anything

Yeah, but see ... I think they suck. I sat through as much as I could stand of each video (except the last one where the link is broken), and nothing about any of it struck me as genuinely awe-inspiring. The beats are simple, the guitars are strums of a narrow-ranged spectrum of predictability, and the vocalist is straight-up annoying. If what <I>I</I> listen to is "bullshit music" compared to Complete, then fuck it. Let the bull shit flow. I'm not even gonna try to analyze any lyrics because I can't get past the most important part of the music - the sound.

I'm sorry if you really like these guys 'n all, but you posted 4 (well, "3") of their videos for us, which indicates to me you wanted an honest opinion. Feel free to bash anything I like - there's certainly lots to cover - but that's just where it is for me. Give me credit that I at least viewed what I could before posting, instead of just jumping in with "... more like <I>un</I>Complete, am i rite?? lol."

honestly, I put this shit out for laughs and I don't expect anyone else to actually like them, but thanks for the thought you put into it. it just grew on me, and i'm just mostly just impressed that they accidentally put out a sound (however impenetrable to most ears) that a lot of other artists worked really hard to get.

Klein I feel the utmost confidence in my reasoning that it would take someone exactly like you to dislike something like the Plinkett Reviews.

But anyways yeah it's brilliant, the whole serial killer thing is a great way to eclipse the way someone just can't help but come off as kind of crazy when going into detailed criticism of a movie like Star Wars. It's more about the analysis; the comic moments are just icing on the cake.

That said though I can not think of "TIIIIIME TO GO IN THE FRIIDGE" without evoking an audible chortle. Damn even thinking about crazy people critiquing science fiction can make you look crazy.

I nonchalantly strolled out from a shitty North-town thrift store, and there he sat, banging two sticks of bamboo against two metal garbage cans and singing tribal music, panhandling.
He was absolutely brilliant! He drew crowds, collected wads of one dollar bills off the sidewalk, then purchased certain drug medleys of his liking. He spent all this money on those drugs, always. All of it. He crawled through dumpsters for food, stored muffin crumbs in his fanny pack. He survived.
“Everybody loves somebody, sometime,” he said again.
“Yes...I'll have to agree. Would you like a cigarette?” I'm sure I was quite coy, but I tried to be generous to the homeless. Maybe some sort of humanitarian superiority complex.
“Sure, thank you.” His tone suddenly became average, congenial, even.
Silence.
We puffed in the smoke and blew it out, over and over.
“I am the man in the blue sombrero,” he said under his breath.
“Fantastic,” I said under mine. He was very very high. I did not perceive him to be dangerous, however. Again, a lost and sad puppy. Just like that.
He took a long pull out of a wine bottle in a brown paper bag, then pointed the bottle towards me. I extended my hand in acceptance and he handed it over. As I took a generous gulp of the warm wine, I contemplated whether or not I would catch a terrible disease from my current endeavor, but soon brushed off this worry. I had done things far more careless before the matter.
