Heh, "John Ritter'd".

This does depress me. Both Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson were iconic superstars of their time that wound up suffering massive psychological ramifications due to their celebrity. They were both intensely lonely individuals whose idea of "love" seemed to emanate solely from their fans. I recently saw a Ryan O'Neal interview on The Today Show, where he talked about why Farrah decided to document her experience with cancer on film. It would seem that the day after the debut airing when he went to visit her, the first remark that came out of her mouth was, "How are the numbers?" (An idiom in showbiz alluding to the amount of viewers that saw the show.) Both Jackson and Farrah's interests and priorities were, first and last, aimed towards their fans. I actually literally shed tears a few years ago when I saw Farrah being interviewed by David Letterman (of course, I was PMSing something fierce at the time, but still), because it seemed like following every other sentence she spoke, she had to ask, "Is that ok to say?" She and Michael were clearly desperate people pleasers that were burned by the press and, consequently, took great hits psychologically.

What's even more depressing is that Michael Jackson's death appears to be overshadowing Farrah's, when I'm certain, as pitiable as this sounds, that she would have wanted more media frenzy to be on her at this time.

goes without saying Michael Jackson's London dates have been cancelled. For the record, they were James (age 9) & Thomas (age 11)

Actually, this is the only thing I can think about with Michael's death: What's gonna happen with the rights to all the Beatles songs? Will they be replaced on sale so the rightful musicians can regain control of what's rightfully theirs, or will Michael's kids get bitch-lucky will treatment?
